Southwest Airlines flight attendants’ union files for mediation in midst of labor dispute
Four years after their contract became amendable, Southwest Airlines and the union that represents its 18,000 flight attendants are still unable to agree on terms for a new deal.
The Transport Workers Union (TWU) has filed for mediation with the National Mediation Board to help it progress through negotiations with the airline. Additionally, Southwest flight attendants are planning to picket in September in response to the slow progress.
