Delta announces 4% increase to pay
On March 17, we announced a 4% pay raise for all eligible scale and merit employees worldwide. This pay raise is effective May 1, 2022 and applies to every Delta flight attendant at every step of the hourly flight pay scale, as well as others across the business. This increase is a continuation of Delta’s commitment to providing flight attendants with industry leading total compensation, including higher hourly flight pay at every step of the scale.
As Ed noted in his memo to everyone announcing the increase, we’ve come a long way since the darkest days of 2020. Two years ago, our revenues plunged 95% almost overnight as travel demand evaporated. We are now forecasting a profit for the month of March and a healthy demand for spring and summer travel.
As we mark this two-year anniversary, Delta wants to recognize and honor your incredible work and commitment – it is thanks to you that Delta is leading the industry as we move out of the pandemic phase of the virus. Our ability to provide this raise is a direct result of the dedication, hard work, and excellence that our frontline workers have shown throughout the pandemic and every day.
As we move forward, the incredible work, sacrifices and sheer devotion to humanity that the people of Delta have demonstrated over the past two years will never be forgotten.
