Jane: Twenty years, three unions, and always empty promises

Watch Jane, a flight attendant from MCO, share her perspective on the benefits of our direct relationship compared to what she experienced while part of three different unions during her 20-year tenure at another airline.
Since joining Delta 12 years ago, Jane found that she can go to management, talk to the EIG, and get things changed on her own without having a third party negotiate for her.
“Coming over to Delta – it was a different culture. Everyone treats each other with respect. There’s not this wedge between the employee and management, which we always were led to believe with the union…but yet, the union never really did anything for us.”
From mechanicals to IROPs, Jane has faced operational challenges both with a union and without one. She encourages Delta flight attendants to “dig in and figure out what’s true and what’s not true,” and to talk to peers who have experienced life with a union at other airlines.
