Danny: “[With] a union, consider what you might lose versus what you might gain
Danny, an LGA-based ramp agent, came to Delta from a union-represented airline and says his coworkers often ask him about life under a contract. Danny explains why he has stayed at Delta for over 30 years and urges his fellow ramp agents to consider what they might lose by signing a union contract. Flexibility, time-off, pay, and work environment are just a few of the things that Danny says you give up with a union.
If you are thinking about the union, consider what you might lose versus what you might gain… Here, there is an open-door policy, you can speak to your leadership, you can work with them... With a contract, even if they wanted to help you, they could not.
He also comments on union dues:
Just take your Delta salary and now minus the union dues. That is a pay cut, a hidden pay cut.
Here at Delta, we have a long track record of working together to drive change based on your feedback – without having to pay a union. Don’t Risk It. Don’t Sign It.
