Top IAM employees received $45 million in 2022
If IAM is elected, union dues would be mandatory for all employees, regardless of whether or not they voted for union representation. The union spends the monthly dues it collects on various things, including not just the representation of members, but also political activities, lobbying and paying the salaries of its top staff.
In 2022, 50,000 union members had to pay dues to cover $45 million in salaries and other disbursements to the top 329 IAM staff. Approximately 90% of these top staff earned yearly salaries of $100,000 or more, and IAM’s president made over $380,000 for the year.
IAM also spent $3.2 million on political activities and lobbying in 2022, the equivalent of dues from 3,300 members (at $80/month for the year).
