A culture of collaboration: Delta people care
The culture of care and collaboration that Delta people have built over decades is what sets us apart from other companies.
Atlanta-based flight attendants Bryce and Amel know that the culture of an airline can impact the work life of its people. “We are one team, so we take care of each other,” says Amel. At her previous, unionized carrier, she did not have the direct relationship with leaders that Delta flight attendants get to experience from day one.
“I think it's important for our new hire flight attendants to understand that leadership has your back here, and we have that open door policy,” says Bryce. “Feeling supported by upper leadership is very important to the wellbeing and overall mental health of flight attendants.”
Delta’s culture delivers results – not “broken promises.”
Unions may make a lot of promises. Take it from Bryce: at his previous carrier, the union said it would address important issues like scheduling. But after they were voted in, “none of [what the union promised] transpired.” Amel says, “Unions or contracts can’t prevent weather or mechanical.” That’s why having a culture where your leaders and peers have your back is so important.
Don’t Risk It. Don’t Sign It.
