Delta’s A-Day program is “incredibly unique”
While reserve systems are in place at every airline, Delta’s A-Day program ensures our flight attendants flexibility and a better quality of life. Hear Joey, Rob, Jane, Princeton, and Corliss talk about how reserve systems at other airlines compare to Delta’s A-Days.
Joey, an ATL-based flight attendant, said at his previous carrier he “had to be available to the company 24 hours a day, 19 days a month.” He added, “That allowed for very little flexibility.”
Corliss, an ATL-based flight attendant, said that “A-days are flexible” and questions if it will “be the same opportunity with a union.”
While AFA promises more flexibility to everyone, the fact is that oftentimes, more flexibility for some requires less flexibility from others to meet operational needs. This is what happens with full-month reserve systems that some of our competitors have in place.
