Get the facts on AFA’s A-Cards
AFA organizers may ask Delta flight attendants to sign a union authorization card (“A-Card”), which they are collecting to file an application for a union election.
Every Delta employee has the right to choose or reject union representation, but before you decide whether to sign an A-Card, it is important you have the facts:
Signing an A-Card means you want a union election - it is not a request for more information. If 50% of eligible employees sign A-Cards, AFA can call for an election.
If you sign an A-Card, it is valid for one year. If you change your mind, AFA has no obligation to return your A-Card to you.
There is no such thing as “trying out a union.” If life with a union is not what you expected, Delta’s culture would be hard to get back. Returning to a non-union status hasn’t happened with any workgroup even half the size of Delta flight attendants.
Signing an A-Card means you fully support union representation and how it may affect your career. If you are still learning about what AFA representation might mean for you, you have the right to say “no.”
Don’t Risk It. Don’t Sign It.
