AFA claims, “It’s taken Delta years at times, and over 32 months, on average to implement one change to our vacation.”
Reality: This is misleading. On March 1st, Delta announced an increase in daily vacation pay rate to 4:15, up from 4:00. This increase in vacation pay represents Delta’s 6th investment in 11 years, and the second in a row since the pandemic.
Meanwhile it has been more than 7 years since AFA-represented flight attendants at United saw their vacation pay change.
While AFA likes to claim that it can secure more for you with a contract, consider how Delta’s daily vacation pay rate stacks up to our peers at United and American:
- Delta’s daily vacation pay is 1 more hour per day compared to United’s 3:15 per day and 15–45 minutes more than American’s daily rates — 3:30 for blocks <7 or 4:00 for blocks of 7 or greater.
Vacation pay is just another example where Delta flight attendants lead both American and United. Don’t be misled by AFA.
