Rumor Has It: April 2025
Note: “Rumor Has It” is a biweekly newsletter sent to Delta flight attendants about a range of topics from company policies to questions about flight benefits and what is happening around the industry. Delta occasionally addresses questions in Rumor Has It related to AFA’s organizing efforts. For ease of reference, those questions and answers have been included below.

RUMOR: Signing an A-Card is just like registering to vote.
FACT: Signing an A-Card means you want a union election - it is nothing like registering to vote. Whether or not you sign an A-Card does not impact your eligibility to vote if there were an election. It is important to understand what you could be signing up for by signing an A-Card – uncertainty, years of negotiations and a lot of inner turmoil.

QUESTION: A crewmember on my flight got this text message: “Hey it’s [name] from AFA. I see you’re working with [flight attendant names]. Would you mind helping us and seeing if they are still feeling the same way about AFA?” They even had the word “anti-union” next to one of the names. How did they get this information and is this allowed?
ANSWER: Unfortunately, this has become a common tactic for AFA and we know it feels like a violation of your privacy. We want to reassure you that Delta does not give out your private contact information or share your trip schedules with AFA.
Only AFA can say how and on what basis they are tracking your opinions on the union. Flight attendants have reported to leaders that organizers are actively collecting employee names, trip schedules, and personal information (e.g. phone numbers) so they can confront employees and, in some cases, pressure them to sign A-Cards. Using Delta’s technology systems, including iCrew, for non-business reasons like this is not allowed.
If at any time you feel pressured or uncomfortable, remember you have the right to say “no” to AFA. If you feel the behavior has become threatening or harassing, or need further support, you can always reach out to a leader.
