Reality: This is false. The addition of boarding pay is consistent with our long-standing practice of offering industry-leading pay. Though AFA is attempting to claim credit for our decision, they have not negotiated boarding pay into the contracts of any airline they represent.
The addition of boarding pay is consistent with Delta’s long-standing practice of offering industry-leading pay and recognition that boarding is becoming an increasingly important part of your job with the addition of more high-density narrow body aircraft. Last year, we tested several ways to improve the boarding experience for our people and our customers and improve our on-time performance. In October 2021, Kristen Manion Taylor, Delta’s S.V.P. of In-Flight Service, committed that we would not implement D-40 without additional compensation beyond what you already receive for boarding. Though AFA is attempting to claim credit for our decision, they have not negotiated boarding pay into the contracts of any airline they represent.
