"Top hourly pay for some, not all Delta flight attendants"

"Top hourly pay for some, not all Delta flight attendants"
AFA recently sent Delta flight attendants some information about Hawaiian’s pay scale, including noting that currently some steps of the scale are higher at Hawaiian and some are higher at Delta.
We don’t typically compare Delta and Hawaiian because its network and operations are substantially different from ours. However, AFA left a lot unsaid that is important to know, including:
AFA also touts that Hawaiian flight attendants “know when and what raise they will get next year and the year after that.” Yes, Hawaiian flight attendants know that they will get a 2% pay increase in 2023 and another 2% in 2024 (just like they did in 2021 and 2022). After that, they will be in negotiations and will likely wait years until the next increase given the length of prior AFA negotiations. Delta, however, historically provides larger pay increases.
Finally, AFA says: “Don’t be surprised when [Delta] announces another raise for flight attendants,” claiming such announcement would be the result of AFA’s campaign. The real reason you shouldn’t be surprised when we announce a pay raise? Delta has already said repeatedly that there will be a pay increase in 2023, just like we have provided in 11 of the last 14 years. Delta is committed to leading the industry in total compensation including shared rewards and our unmatched profit sharing – don’t believe AFA’s claims otherwise.
Delta’s culture of taking care of our people has nothing to do with AFA.
Don’t Risk It, Don’t Sign It.
JULY 27, 2022
This is true – and we agree. It’s why we’ve consistently invested in pay increases, scaling up staffing and making our operation more resilient.
JULY 14, 2022
This is false. For flight attendants, Delta has a long proven track record of leading the industry in total compensation at every step of the pay scale.
MAY 12, 2022
This is false. This pay raise was part of Delta’s ongoing commitment to providing industry-leading total compensation, including best-in-class hourly flight pay.
