Other airlines share more of their profit with flight attendants than Delta
Delta’s track record of sharing our success – and investing in you – is unmatched. Compared to your unionized peers at other airlines including American and United, you consistently come out on top when it comes to profit sharing, Shared Rewards, and more.
AFA claims that a union contract will get you more, but the facts speak for themselves:
Delta has paid more than $9.2 billion in profit sharing since 2010, including over $6.5 billion in profit sharing in the five years leading up to the pandemic. When you look at Delta’s historical profit-sharing payouts compared to our global competitors, the numbers speak for themselves:
2015: Delta leads American (0%) and United (13%) with a 21.46% payout.Delta was the only major U.S. airline to achieve profitability in the second half of 2021. To recognize your extraordinary efforts during an industry-wide recovery, we issued a special profit-sharing payment in February 2022 totaling more than $100 million, amounting to $625/$1,250 per person. This payment was 20% of Delta’s total profits for the second half of the year, all while we continued to pay back billions in pandemic-related debt. Even during this challenging time for our industry, we were able to reward your industry-leading performance and deliver on our commitment to sharing in the success we create together.
Our Shared Rewards program remained intact throughout the pandemic while American and United suspended theirs. Shared Rewards payouts between April 2020 and December 2021 totaled $1,575 for flight attendants and other eligible employees.
We’re also on track for a profit sharing payout on Employee Appreciation Day in February 2023.
But it’s not just profit sharing payouts: Delta has the highest total compensation in the industry with hourly flight pay rates that beat peers’ rates at every step of the scale, from the first year to top of scale. Then, on top of our hourly flight pay, Delta is the only carrier to provide a boarding pay premium, which provides potentially thousands in additional compensation.
Sharing our success is a core part of Delta’s culture. Don’t Risk It. Don’t Sign It.
