Bobbi: After 30 years under AFA, it "is not the answer for Delta”
Bobbi is a Boston-based flight attendant who joined Delta after years of working at AFA-represented United. With her 30+ years in the industry, including time spent in union leadership, Bobbi says that “AFA is not the answer for Delta and the flight attendants.”
She knows that AFA often makes big promises to its flight attendants of what it can achieve for them. “But all we have to do is look at what’s happening over at United Airlines,” where flight attendants have been waiting more than three years for a new contract and have been stuck with pay rates and work rules negotiated back in 2016.
“If any Delta flight attendant thinks that it’s going to be: vote them in, quick contract, and we’re gonna get industry leading…not gonna happen.”
Compared to her time with AFA, Bobbi values how much Delta “really cares about their employees. It is such a refreshing change that we are truly a people airline.”
AFA continues to make promises to Delta flight attendants about what life will be like with them, but take it from a former AFA member – “AFA is not the answer.”
