Tom: My previous union failed to deliver on its big campaign promises
Tom is an ATL-based flight attendant who joined Delta after spending years at a unionized carrier. When the union started its campaign at his previous airline, it made a lot of big promises of what it could achieve in a contract. But “when the tentative agreement came through, that wasn’t the case.”
He noticed significant changes when the union was voted in. “It was like overnight the culture changed…there was like a middleman between us on the workforce being flight attendants and our leadership.”
At Delta, Tom doesn’t “feel like a number, you really do feel like an individual.”
Like so many others, he was drawn to Delta for our unique culture and direct relationship between flight attendants and leaders. Don’t let AFA disrupt that overnight.
Hear directly from other Delta flight attendants and if it’s important to you, share your own story about why Delta’s culture is special to you.
