IAM Dues Went Up
Since 2022, members of IAM Local Lodge 1726 in New England have seen their dues go up by 12% to $82.50 per month. That’s adds up to $990 that each one of these members is required to pay directly to IAM for representation this year.
Here is some additional information about IAM dues:
In addition to being mandatory under a union contract, dues can and often do increase.
Dues pay for the union’s expenses – from the costs of representing members to the salaries of IAM officers and staff.
- What you pay is not based on your income or seniority. Everyone in the same station pays the same amount, even if you didn’t vote for the IAM.
- State and local right-to-work laws do not apply to airline union contracts. This means that employees cannot get out of paying dues by living in a certain state or if they're dissatisfied with union representation.
