AFA Claim: AFA ensures every flight attendant has a voice.
Reality: This is false. In a recent case with the National Mediation Board, AFA advocated to exclude over 80% of Avelo Airlines’ flight attendants from their union election.
Only 14 of Avelo’s 77 flight attendants were allowed to vote in the election, and only eight voted for AFA. This means that 10% of flight attendants made the decision for the entire workgroup. AFA claimed that it received “super majority support” and that Avelo's flight attendants showed “incredible solidarity,” but in reality 80% of the voices they are supposed to represent were excluded from even voting.
